I frequently hear that new VAs lamenting their inability to book roles. Why not just make the types of projects you want to be a part of? This is an example showing how easy it is to get started making your own VNs to show off your awesome voice work! You can have something simple done in a few hours, or a good start on a game over a long weekend.

You don't even need art skills. There are so many resources out there for creating your own projects, including FREE ones. You can create a very high quality VN using creative commons/public domain assets! 

This example is meant to show how easy it is to create a nice looking project featuring your voice. It uses public domain and creative commons assets for everything BUT voice over. It was made in about 2 hours, including finding the assets, and uses only basic programming included in the Ren'py tutorials out of the box. The easiest thing for a newbie is to take something that works and modify, so it modifies the stock tutorial. 

All it takes is an an afternoon of exploration and a bit of patience to start, so don't wait for someone to cast you to start voice acting! Create the types of roles you want to voice. There is no reason not to live the most sugoi animu vo life.
